GOP governor candidates to debate in Tucson

Five of the six candidates seeking the nod as the Republican candidate for Arizona governor will debate Wednesday night in Tucson.

Participating in the GOP gubernatorial primary forum will be Ken Bennett, Christine Jones, Frank Riggs, Scott Smith and Andrew Thomas. Candidate Doug Ducey declined to attend.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m at the Proscenium Theater at the Center for the Arts on the West Campus of Pima Community College, 2202 W. Anklam Rd. The doors will open at 6 p.m.

The forum, presented by the League of Women Voters and Arizona Public Media, will be moderated by Lorraine Rivera, host of AZPM's Arizona Week. Free tickets are still available and can be picked up at the theater before the event.

If you are unable to attend, the forum will be streamed live at ondemand.azpm.org and available through August 26.

AZPM will broadcast the forum on the following channels, dates, and times:

  • PBS 6: Monday, August 4, 6-7 p.m.
  • PBS World: Monday, August 4, 9-10 p.m. and Monday, August 11, 5-6 p.m.
