Workshops to give wildfire victims aid info
Victims of recent wildfires will have the opportunity to learn more about potential financial and restoration assistance Wednesday in Sierra Vista and on Thursday in Eager.
Business owners, community leaders and homeowners are encouraged to attend the workshops, to be held by the U.S. Forest Service.
The first will be held in Sierra Vista on Wednesday at Sierra Suites, 391 E. Fry Blvd., from 2-4:30 p.m. and a second workshop from 6-8:30 p.m.
Workshops in Eager will be Thursday at Round Valley High School, 550 N. Butler St., from 2-4:30 p.m. and a second from 6-8:30 p.m.
Residents can learn about how to avoid flooding and mudslides brought on by Arizona’s seasonal monsoon and the damage from the fires.
Representatives from the following agencies will be on hand: Natural Resources Conservation Service, Rural Development, Farm Service Agency, U.S. Forest Service, FEMA, the state Forestry Service, Arizona Division of Emergency Management, and the state's Department of Agriculture and Department of Insurance.
