J.C. Scott: Group seeks recall of Sunnyside school board
On Tuesday's edition:
06: We started the show with Jim Rounds, an economist and vice president of Elliott D. Pollack and Company. Round gave an in-depth look at the economic recovery in Arizona and around the country.
37 min: We were joined by artist Diana Madaras, who invited listeners to take a sneak peek at Tucson’s newest destination for dazzling Christmas home décor. Madaras Gallery/Skyline will roll out “Diana’s Christmas Shoppe” during a two-week Christmas In July preview, July 20-Aug. 3.
61 min: Next up was Michael Keith, CEO of the Downtown Tucson Partnership, who gave an update on development in Downtown. Keith talked about development ideas for the Ronstadt Transit Center area, new boutique hotels, housing, parking and impact of the Sun Link street car line.
80 min: We finished the show with Richard Hernandez, chairman of the effort to recall members of the Sunnyside Governing Board. The group — which seeks to oust two board members, Louie Gonzales and Bobby Garcia — are unhappy with the board's 3-2 decision to renew Superintendent Manuel Isquierdo’s contract until 2016. They do not seek the recall of the third board member, Eva Carrillo Dong, as she is already up for re-election.
