Illegal alien sentenced to 70 months in prison
An illegal alien from Mexico was sentenced to 70 months in prison last week for attempting to re-enter the United States, authorities said.
Guadencio Molina-Carbajal, 33, was prosecuted after he was apprehended in July 2010 near Vamori, Ariz., a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
During processing at the Casa Grande Station, a fingerprint check showed Molina was convicted in 2009 in California for attempted sale of narcotics and had several convictions for inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, CBP said.
Record checks also indicated that Molina, a native of Guerrero, Mexico, was previously deported in April 2010 in San Ysidro, Calif., the release said.
The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Following his incarceration, Molina will be formally removed from the country, CBP said.
