A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector since Friday, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection:

Arrests

On Saturday, Casa Grande Border Patrol agents apprehended a 56-year-old Mexican national for illegally entering the United States. Agents ran an Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System check and found the man had a 2008 conviction for voluntary manslaughter in Sonoma County, Calif., as well as convictions for vandalism, possession of a controlled substance, evading law enforcement, driving under the influence, and destroying evidence. He was being prosecuted for re-entry of an aggravated felon.

On Sunday, Tucson Station agents apprehended a 28-year-old Guatemalan national for illegally entering the United States. During an IAFIS check, agents discovered the subject's 2009 conviction for felony child molestation in Central Falls, R.I. He was being prosecuted for re-entry of an aggravated felon.

Rescues and recoveries

On Friday, Ajo Station agents responded to a rescue beacon activation in the west desert and found two illegal immigrants. The subjects, a Mexican citizen and a Honduran citizen, were administered first aid and taken to the Ajo Station for processing. 

On Saturday, Ajo Station agents received a 911 call from two illegal border crossers stranded in the desert. Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue agents responded and were able to rescue a woman. After a search for her male companion, agents discovered his remains. The body was turned over to the Tohono O'odham Police Department.
