Democratic Senate candidates square off Friday

The four candidates running in Arizona's Democratic primary race for the U.S. Senate will debate Friday night.

Former Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman, former investigative reporter John Dougherty, former state lawmaker Cathy Eden and labor organizer Randy Parraz will explain their stances on the issues in a debate beginning at 7 p.m.

The face-off, which is being held in Phoenix, will be broadcast on KTTU-TV Channel 18 (Channel 2 on Cox) in Tucson.

Next Friday, July 16, Sen. John McCain will debate his challengers, former congressman J.D. Hayworth and conservative hopeful Jim Deakin.

The primary election is Aug. 24.
