Man arrested for fatal shooting of Three Points man found in well
A Three Points man, found dead in an abandoned well with a gunshot wound to the stomach Wednesday, has been identified, and another man charged with first degree murder, authorities said.
William Sattler, 75, was located about 25 feet down the well by Sheriff's Department homicide detectives who were conducting a follow-up investigation of a missing person, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman said Wednesday.
Sattler had been reported missing on Tuesday, Deputy Tracy Suitt said in a news release. His body was found in the desert area on West Phillips Road west of South Sierrita Mountain Road, southwest of Tucson.
Detectives from other units responded to assist homicide detectives, serving search warrants on multiple locations, said Suitt.
Donald Stewart, 51, was booked on one count of first degree murder after being taken into custody for questioning, Suitt said.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME, Suitt said.
