J.C. Scott: Filmmaker facing funding deadline for mariachi documentary

On Tuesday's edition:

Six minutes into the show, we started bankruptcy attorney Jesse R. Callahan, who talked about debt-relief options, credit collection and the new bankruptcy law.

34 min: Next up was Middle East expert Prof. Stephen Zunes, who gave his take on hotspots Syria, Turkey, Iran and Israel.

53 min: We were joined by journalist and filmmaker Daniel Buckley, who is running a Kickstarter campaign to raise $15,000 to produce a documentary profiling the history of mariachi music. The film will show how Tucson’s mariachi and folklorico programs have changed Tucson socially, economically,  and politically, and how mariachi and folklorico have come to symbolize our community. The fundraising drive has an all-or-nothing deadline this week.

78 min: We finished the show with Glenn Hamer, CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who gave a review of this session of the Legislature, including Medicaid expansion, sales tax reform, education funding and election legislation.
