RAF choppers, U.S. F-16s to train at D-M in June

A trio of Royal Air Force helicopters and U.S. F-16s from Texas and Oklahoma will fly out of Tucson's Davis-Monthan Air Force Base through the end of the month.

Three CH-47 Chinooks from the UK RAF's No. 7 Squadron, from the RAF Odiham base southwest of London, will train here until June 19, officials said. The helicopters have been flying from D-M since February 27.

Also appearing in the skies over Tucson will be three F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 457th Fighter Squadron at Fort Worth-Carswell, Texas. Those pilots will train here for a week, beginning this Friday.

Eight F-16C Fighting Falcons from the 125th Fighter Squadron at the Oklahoma Air National Guard will train here from June 20 until June 29.
