Pima Library goes mobile with new app

Managing your summer reading list just got easier with the Pima County Public Library mobile app. Books can be renewed or placed on hold, eBooks can be downloaded, and library locations and hours can be found all on a smart phone or tablet.

“It makes sense for the library to have an app like this,” library Executive Director Melinda Cervantes said in a news release. “When you have a smartphone, your calendar, contacts, text messaging, social media, and the Internet are available wherever you go. Now, with this app you can use the library wherever you are.”

Library patrons will be able to view due dates for checked out items, as well as check out new materials with the app’s barcode scanner. Readers looking for new books can explore a list of staff-recommended reads.

The library app can be found in the Google Play store for Android, and the Apple App Store for iPad and iPhone by searching for "Pima County Public Library."
