J.C. Scott: Medicaid logjam broken, vote expected this week

On the Tuesday edition:

6 minutes into the show, we began with Pima County Democratic Party Chairman Don Jorgensen, who talked about Medicaid expansion, the IRS investigation, the Department of Justice's search of AP phone records and upcoming Tucson City Council elections.

20 minutes in, we were joined by Arizona Capitol Times Editor Jim Small, who broke the news that House Speaker Andy Tobin will assign budget bills including the Medicaid expansion bill to committee this week. A vote in the Legislature could take place later this week.

37 min: We interviewed Middle East expert Prof. Stephen Zunes, who gave his take on the latest news coming out of Syria, Turkey, Israel and Iran.

55 min: We were joined Southern Arizona News Examiner editor and radio host Emil Franzi, who commented on Tucson's new gun laws, Medicaid expansion, along with the IRS, AP and Benghazi investigations. John and Emil also speculated on possible Republican presidential candidates.

88 min: We finished with Republican state Rep. Ethan Orr, who shared the news of progress in the Medicaid expansion negotiations. Orr said he expects a vote by early next week.
