Three candidates nominated for vacancy on S. Az appeals court

Two judges and an attorney have been named as possible appointees to the Southern Arizona division of the Arizona Court of Appeals.

The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments made the nominations Wednesday. A new judge will be picked from among them by Gov. Doug Ducey.

The three named are:

  • Laura A. Cardinal, a sole practitioner with Cardinal Law, P.C., of Sierra Vista, a Democrat
  • Judge Karl C. Eppich of Pinal County Superior Court, a Republican
  • Judge Timothy M. Wright of Gila County Superior Court, a Republican

Division Two of the Court of Appeals hears cases arising from Pima, Cochise, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties.
