Memorial Day events

Tucson and the region will honor its fallen soldiers with a parade and ceremonies for Memorial Day.

Monday

  • 8 a.m. Memorial Day Parade, Tucson Estates, 5900 W. Western Way Circle.
  • 9 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at McCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post 109, 15921 S. Houghton Rd., with F-16 flyover by Arizona National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
  • 9 a.m. Memorial observance at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N. Oracle Rd. Includes refreshments.
  • 9 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave., with F-16 flyover by Arizona National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
  • 9 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with F-16 flyover by Arizona National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
  • 9 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at Green Valley Cemetery, 18751 S. La Cañada Drive in Sahuarita, with F-16 flyover by Arizona National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
  • 10 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at Purple Heart Park, 10050 E. Rita Rd., with F-16 flyover by Arizona National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
  • 10 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Huachuca's Post Cemetery, (information and directions available at Main Gate off Fry Boulevard).
  • 6 p.m. Memorial Day ceremony at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, in Sierra Vista.

Wednesday

10 a.m. Memorial ceremony at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System, R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium, 3601 S. Sixth Ave. Refreshments will be served.
