Man gets 3 years for illegal re-entry of a felon
A 33-year-old Mexican man was sentenced to more than three years in prison for illegal entry of a felon, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Friday.
Jose Luis Juarez Landeros, of Calvillo, Aguascalientes, was apprehended by Border Patrol agents in October who learned Juarez had multiple convictions including a felony assault and menacing with a "real or simulated" deadly weapon out of Mesa County, Colo., the Border patrol said.
Juarez was sentenced to 37 months in prison on April 14. Following his prison term, he will be formally removed from the United States and be banned for life from all legalization processes, the Border Patrol said.
