More than 3,000 pounds of marijuana were seized by Border Patrol agents Monday, with an estimated street value of more than $1.5 million.

Agents near Casa Grande followed a vehicle's tire tracks into the desert and found an abandoned Chevrolet Tahoe concealed by a tarp. 1,600 pounds of marijuana—worth $830,000—was hidden inside the SUV, the agency said in a press release.

In a separate incident Monday, agents stopped a truck they considered suspicious south of Patagonia. After x-raying the Ford F-250, they found the vehicle was transporting 1,366 pounds of marijuana, worth $683,000.

Agents seized both vehicles. The driver of the Ford was taken into custody.
