Final water-rate town hall Wednesday night
A final town hall to present options for a proposed increase in water rates will be held by Tucson Water on Wednesday evening.
"These town halls provide an opportunity for our customers to learn about the financial operations of our utility," Alan Forrest, director of Tucson Water, said in a news release.
Three possible water rate increase were drafted with input from the Citizens Water Advisory Committee.
The increases would bump monthly bills between $2.91 and $3.68 for average residential users, who make up almost 90 percent of Tucson Water customers, spokesman Fernando Molina said in the release.
The town hall will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the William M. Clements Recreation Center, 8155 E. Poinciana Dr.
At a meeting on May 21, Mayor and Council are expected to vote on water rates. The rates would take effect for fiscal year 2014.
