On Friday's edition of the John C. Scott Show:
We started our show with Patrick McNamara of Inside Tucson Business, who talked about poverty in Tucson, as well as a new University of Arizona center that will help schools prepare a high-tech workforce, and the Tech Council's backing for an investment fund.
18 minutes into the show, we were joined by Penelope Jacks, the Southern Arizona Director of the Children's Action Alliance, who talked about the continuing challenges that plague Arizona Child Protective Services. Child safety, program underfunding, employee turnover and agency morale are just some of the issue discussed.
36 min: We interviewed state Sen. David Bradley (D-LD10) about the proposed expansion of Medicaid, and other budget challenges, along with education, gun legislation, CPS and bills that still await Gov. Brewer's signature.
50 min: U.S. Rep. Ron Barber joined John for an in-depth interview on subjects that included small business, constituent services, sequester, immigration and gun legislation to name a few.
