New lanes to open at Nogales port of entry
Travelers driving into Mexico next week through the Mariposa Port of Entry in Nogales will find a shift in traffic flow.
New passenger-vehicle and commercial lanes will open as part of the Mariposa Expansion Project, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Wednesday.
Passenger vehicles will have two new lanes that will open at 6 a.m. Sunday. Two new lanes and a temporary truck-dock will open to commerical traffic on Monday.
Drivers are advised to use caution when approaching the port as construction crews continue to work on the project that began in 2010. The expansion is expected to be complete in 2014, CBP said.
