Nordstrom Rack planned for Tucson

Discount store will be near Tucson Mall

Tucson will get its first Nordstrom Rack next year.

The 33,200-square-foot store, planned for a fall 2011 opening, will be across from Tucson Mall in The Corner shopping center at the southeast corner of Oracle and Wetmore roads.

Nordstrom Rack is the discount retail division of Nordstrom that carries clearance merchandise from other stores and the company web site.

"We can't wait to open our doors next fall and get to work serving more of our customers," Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a press release. "It's really exciting to be able to open our first Nordstrom Rack in Tucson."

The store will be the fourth Nordstrom Rack in Arizona. There are two in Scottsdale and Chandler, and another is planned for this fall in Peoria.
