Husband, wife killed in Southwest Side home invasion

3-year-old daughter critically injured

A husband and wife were killed and their 3-year-old daughter critically injured in a home invasion Monday night, according to a Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 7800 block of West Spiney Lizard Place at 11:39 p.m., said Deputy Jason Ogan.

Inside a home, near South San Joaquin and West Bopp Roads on the Southwest Side, they found Manuel Francisco Orozco, 36, and Cynthia Orozco, 34. Both were dead when deputies arrived, said Ogan.

There were signs of forced entry to the residence, said Ogan.

The couple's 3-year-old daughter was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her 10-year-old sister was not injured, said Ogan.

The Sheriff's Department asks anyone with information regarding the crime to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
