Mexican national had domestic abuse conviction in Calif.
A 28-year-old Mexican man was sentenced to 37 months in prison for illegal re-entry of a felon, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Friday.
Victor Manuel Andasol of León, Guanajuato, was apprehended by Border Patrol agents in October near San Miguel, the Border Patrol said.
During processing at the Casa Grande Station, agents discovered that Andasol was convicted of felony domestic abuse in 2011 in Fresno County, Calif., the Border Patrol said.
Andasol was sentenced March 13. Following his sentence, Andasol will be formally removed from the United States and will be banned for life from all legalization processes, the Border Patrol said.
