UA poli sci major appointed student regent
A University of Arizona student was appointed as the student member of the Arizona Board of Regents, Gov. Jan Brewer announced Tuesday.
Valeria Hanna, who is is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus on Public Policy and Law, is a member of the Class of 2015.
"Valerie brings to the Arizona Board of Regents a fresh, energetic voice and a clear interest in this state’s higher education issues," Brewer said.
Hanna serves as a senator in student government at UA, and been an Arizona Ambassador, leading campus tours for prospective students.
Her two-year term will begin July 1, pending confirmation by the state Senate.
