Tucson Modern Streetcar
Utility work to restrict downtown traffic
Work on gas lines downtown in preparation for the Tucson Modern Streetcar project will restrict travel through parts of downtown through the end of March, the City of Tucson announced.
Southwest Gas contractors will be working in areas along Broadway and Congress between Fourth and Granada avenues.
The following traffic restrictions will be in place:
Eastbound Broadway, between Fifth and Sixth avenues
Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. and is expected to be completed by Friday.
One travel lane will remain open
- Sixth Avenue will not be affected
- Arizona Avenue, north of Broadway will be closed
- Arizona south of Broadway will be closed intermittently
Congress and Stone
Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and is expected to be completed by March 30.
- Southbound Stone will be reduced to one travel lane
- Westbound Congress will be reduced to one travel lane
- Turns will not be affected
Congress and Sixth Avenue
Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and is expected to be completed by March 30.
- Northbound Sixth Avenue will be reduced to one travel lane
- Westbound Congress will be reduced to one travel lane
- Turns will not be affected
