Man gets 57 months for illegal entry
30-year-old has drug, felon convictions in Georgia
A 30-year-old Mexican man was sentenced to 57 months in prison Tuesday for illegal entry into the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Friday.
Antonio Gonzalez Sandoval, of Morleia, Michoacán, was apprehended by Willcox Station agents in October 2011.
During processing, agents found Gonzalez has a 2006 conviction in Cobb County, Ga., for a felony drug violation and three counts of felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Agents also found two convictions from 2009 and 2010 for reckless drinking and driving without a license in California, the Border Patrol said.
Following his sentence, Gonzalez will be formally removed from the United States and banned for life from all legalization processes, the Border Patrol said.
