Hit and run kills pedestrian in Midtown
A hit and run driver claimed the life of a Tucson man Thursday night, said a Tucson Police spokeswoman.
Willie Minter Jr., 30, was struck by a early to mid-1990s Ford truck while standing near the south side of the intersection of East Fort Lowell Road and North Park Avenue around 8 p.m., said Sgt. Diana Lopez.
Minter was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The truck, which was traveling east, continued after striking Minter, who had begun to cross the road, said Lopez.
Police urge anyone with information on the driver or truck to call 911 or 88-Crime.
