Woman gets 3 years for illegal re-entry into U.S.
A 30-year-old Mexican woman was sentenced to three years in prison on Feb. 15 for illegally re-entering the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
Maria Soto Favela, of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, was apprehended by Douglas Station Border Patrol agents in February 2011. During processing, agents found Soto had a 2002 conviction for felony armed robbery, felony attempted aggravated assault and theft in Maricopa County, the Border Patrol said.
Following her sentence, Soto will be formally removed from the United States and is banned fro life from all legalization processes.
