Reduce risk of identity theft at Shred-A-Thon
Personal papers will be shredded at free event
In an effort to combat identity theft, the Pima County Sheriff's Department and Arizona Verified Destruction will hold a "Shred-A-Thon" on Saturday.
The event is an effort to educate the public about identity theft and shred any personal documents that can be used to commit the crime, said Deputy Dawn Barkman.
The service is free from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Marana High School, 12000 W. Emigh Rd. An attendant will pick-up documents from drivers at their vehicles and take them to a bin to be shredded.
