PCC marketing head out after just a week

Six days after his appointment as Pima College's interim assistant vice chancellor of marketing was announced, Dave Tedlock is no longer with the college. While sources said Tedlock was fired, Chancellor Lee Lambert said "I wouldn't characterize in it that way."

Reached by phone Thursday evening, Tedlock declined to comment. Lambert also said he wouldn't detail the reasons Tedlock, who runs the consulting firm NetOutcomes, was no longer working for the college.

Tedlock was announced as the temporary head of Pima's marketing efforts last week, on Friday the 13th. His stay ended up rather shorter than intended.

"He made some great proposals on how the college's marketing efforts need to change," Lambert said. PCC "is going through numerous changes, and our marketing needs to change .. for the 21st century."

Lambert said he was examining his options regarding filling the now-vacant post, pointing to a 50 percent cut in state aid in Gov. Doug Ducey's budget, and declining enrollment at the school.

In June 2014, Tedlock was elected to the Pima Community College Foundation's Board of Directors. Lambert said he didn't know if Tedlock had decided to remain a member of the board.

Pima hasn’t updated its website yet. Tedlock is still listed as interim vice chancellor.

Sorry, we missed your input...
