BP agents find $1.3M in marijuana near Gila Bend
Border Patrol agents discovered more than $1.3 million in marijuana hidden in two trucks near Gila Bend last Saturday.
Ajo Station agents responded to a sensor hit and found tire tracks from two vehicles, according to a release from Customs and Border Protection.
The agents followed the tracks and spotted two vehicles hidden in a wash.
As they approached, they saw several people leave the vehicles, the release said. The agents were unable to find the subjects, but they found 314 bundles of marijuana weighing 2,600 pounds and worth more than $1.3 million hidden in tool compartments.
Records checks showed that both vehicles had false plates, the release said.
