Show Tucson's heart at Hi Corbett on Sunday
Thousands of people will gather in the shape of an enormous heart Sunday to show their support for the community in the wake of the Jan. 8 mass shooting.
"Tucson Has Heart" organizers hope to set a world record, with more than 12,500 red-shirted participants forming a massive heart shape.
The heart will be photographed from the air about 2 p.m., organizers said.
The free event will take place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hi Corbett Field, 900 S. Randolph Way.
Participants are asked to wear red shirts. Concessions will be sold but no outside food will be allowed in the stadium. Donations of canned food will be collected for the Community Food Bank.
Overflow parking will be available at the northeast corner of El Con Mall, where a free shuttle will provide transportation to the event.
