Downtown travel affected by centennial events

Tucson's state centennial celebrations kick off Friday at 4 p.m. and will affect travel through some parts of downtown.

Through 3 p.m. Sunday, Fifth Avenue between Broadway Boulevard and Congress Street, and Fifth Avenue between Toole Avenue and the MLK Parking Garage will be closed.

From 6 a.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Sunday, Sixth Avenue between Broadway and Congress, and Scott Avenue between Broadway and Congress will be closed.

Motorists traveling through these areas of downtown should expect delays and use caution, the city said.
