Sheriff: Missing Southwest Side woman located

A 67-year-old woman has been located after going missing on Tucson's Southwest Side on Tuesday morning.

Mary Tuyet Gittins was last seen Tuesday morning walking near her care home near West Los Reales Road and South Camino de la Tierra, authorities said. The Pima County Sheriff's Department announced on social media Wednesday afternoon that she had been located, but did not provide further details.

Wednesday, the department had sent out a news release, asking the press to spread the word that the public's assistance was wanted in helping the woman, who has schizophrenia, return to her home safely.
