'Gunfighter' Gabby makes Time cover
On the day President Obama unveiled a comprehensive package of gun control and mental health measures, Time magazine put former Tucson congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords on its cover, calling her a "gunfighter," along with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Vice President Joe Biden.
Giffords, who resigned from Congress a year ago to focus on recovering from a shot to the head on Jan. 8, 2011, last week launched a political action committee dedicated to pushing gun control. The group, Americans for Responsible Solutions, hopes to raise $20 million in its first year.
