We started with Mark B. Evans, administrator of Tucsoncitizen.com, on machine-gun ownership is treated differently than other guns, a discussion of the Ward 6 'Roast' and Tucson wanting control of its gun laws.

At 3:40 p.m., we talked with Dylan Smith, Editor and Publisher Tucsonsentinel.com, about his article commemorating the Jan. 8 anniversary, Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly launching a gun-control effort, the Tucson gun buyback event that saw 200 guns turned in and the Ward 6 'Roast' held Monday night at the Loft.

At 4:10 p.m., we talked with state Sen. Linda Lopez about her proposed gun legislation in the coming session of the Legislature. We also covered Rep. Chad Campbell's proposal for funding school resource officers, possible cut-backs to CPS, education funding and other budget rumors coming from Gov. Brewer's office.

Our last segment, at 4:40 p.m., included Ward 2 Tucson City Councilman Paul Cunningham. His subjects included the need to retain and grow the police and fire departments in the face a continued decline in pay. He told our listeners about his plans for a youth sports summit highlighting the huge impact the youth sports has on the Southern Arizona economy. He also covered Tucson's struggle with economic development funding.
