A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector since Saturday, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Arrests
Ajo Station agents apprehended a male Mexican man Sunday who illegally entered the United States. During processing, agents discovered he has a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon out of California in 2006, and a prior removal. He also admitted to being a member of the Harpys, an affiliate of the Sureño gang. He now faces federal charges.
Casa Grande Station agents apprehended a Guatemalan man Saturday for illegally entering the United States. Records checks revealed he had a prior removal and a conviction for second-degree robbery out of California in 2009. He also admitted to being a member of the Non-Stop Loco’s Sureño 13 gang. He faces federal charges.
Seizure
Casa Grande Station agents found several bundles of marijuana abandoned in the West Desert on Sunday. The drugs weighed 952 pounds and are estimated to be worth $476,000. The marijuana was to be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
