The six people killed in the shooting that wounded 13 others, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, have been identified by the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

They are:

  • Christina Greene, 9, a student at Mesa Verde Elementary
  • Dorothy Morris, 76, a retiree
  • Judge John Roll, 63
  • Dorwin Stoddard, 76, a retiree. Stoddard's wife was also injured, sources say
  • Phyllis Scheck, 79, a retiree
  • Gabe Zimmerman, 30, Giffords' director of community outreach

Greene was born on Sept. 11, 2001, and was a member of her school's student government. She went to the Giffords event to learn more about politics, family members said.

Two other  Giffords staffers were wounded in the shooting. The two — Pam Simon and Ron Barber — remained hospitalized Saturday night.

19 people were shot during the incident Saturday morning on at a Northwest Side grocery store.

Giffords was holding a "Congress On Your Corner" meet and greet with constituents when a gunman opened fire at around 10:10 a.m., said Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik.

Correction: Dorothy Morris was identified by authorities early Sunday morning. Her name had been given as Murray.
