Times: Pima County has lowest Obamacare premiums in U.S.

While some areas of the country are served by a limited number of health insurers, competition in Arizona has led to Pima County having the most affordable Obamacare health insurance rates in the United States. A New York Times report on the online marketplaces created by the Affordable Care Act showed that of 2,500 counties, the Tucson area had the best rates.

As a gainfully employed person, my share comes to less than $235, and that’s covering me and my wife.

Speaking of my wife, before we got married she bought her own insurance through Blue Cross. It was coverage comparable to that which she enjoys now, and it was only about $170 a month.

Are we sure this Obamacare thing is good?

Is this Obamacare thing good?

$235 is before the tax rebate, so it’s probably cheaper than the $170/month plan you cite. Plus she gets free checkups, can’t be dropped because she meets a limit, and a lot of things are better with the plans.

So yeah, it’s good.
