I am concerned when I read these stories…concerned for our privacy. I would like to know just how it is determined that these guys are sharing the porn. How do I know they’re not using some sort of security hole to scour my computer, and make sure I’m not breaking any rules?

@Bret Linden,

When you post something on another website, the server logs will show your IP address. From that, it’s not hard to track you down.

@Dylan Smith

In theory, I agree with you. But, and perhaps I’m giving too much credit here, I have to believe that someone engaging in activity that is this highly illegal, they would take precautions beforehand to prevent leaving such digital breadcrumbs. Subscribing to a VPN, encrypting your hard drive, something simple like that.
