First streetcar en route to Tucson

After much delay, the first of Tucson's new streetcars is on its way from Oregon. The car was loaded on a flat-bed truck in Portland on Monday, and is due to arrive Friday morning. The first of eight streetcars will undergo months of testing before the public will be allowed to climb aboard.

So, um, who was that guy who correctly called that this inevitable boondoggle would be over time and over budget (in keeping with Tucson tradition). Oh, yeah, that was me.

With all the hype surrounding the choo choo train, I still have yet to read what steel wheels on rail can do that rubber on pavement can not.
