The June report said 13.4 percent of all deaths to working-age residents were attributable to alcohol for that period..

What is the definition of “attributable to alcohol”?  The people quoted in the article seem to be talking about alcohol poisoning or cirrhosis, but if this includes auto fatalities (as the numbers suggest to me it must) then alcohol addiction may well be a very trivial part of the problem.
