Tucson activists: Immigration reform a 'jobs bill for the military'

Even as some advocates in Washington D.C. celebrated the U.S. Senate's passage of an immigration reform bill, the inclusion of new security requirements has prompted activists in the borderlands to protest the bill's passage. About 50 protestors gathered Thursday, calling it a "jobs bill for the military" and a "slap in the face" that will lead to an increase in civil rights abuses and more deaths along the border.

Don’t come, don’t die. Simple. I legitimately can not think of any concept in the entire world that is simpler than that one.

The protestors said that the reform bill is a “slap in the face” that will lead to an increase in civil rights abuses and more deaths along the border.

Just like giving citizenship to border jumpers is a slap in the face for all those who showed our nation the respect of following her laws and did it the right way.

Someone once said to me the true meaning of compromise is where everyone involved leaves the table pissed off. That said…I think “immigration reform” is futile. If we didn’t enforce the laws on the books that we did have, what makes anyone think that we’ll enforce the laws on the books that we’re going to have? It makes zero sense.
