Alfred Delgatto, a volunteer for Sonoran Prevention Works and similar organizations, provides drug users with clean needles and syringes, and fentanyl testing strips as well as basic hygiene and living supplies. “It’s not easy for most people to just stop doing everything at once,” Delgatto says. “I think most people thrive in an environment where they kind of chip away at things one thing at a time.”
