I worked one Christmas season for Nordstrom in Maryland selling ladies and salon shoes—you could make very good money. The “Rack” in that four story store was in the basement. They definitely have some good buys, if you need that level of attire for business (or want it for pleasure, I suppose). Personally, I’ve embarked on an effort to buy as much as I can used. I make an exception for art, crafts, and, well, used food is not too appetizing. But if you’ve shopped a regular Nordstrom just don’t expect the level of service you get in the full priced store. And watch those shoe sizes ladies, as we were allowed to sell “split” sizes, so some shoe boxes that make to the Rack might have one size 6 and one size 7.
