Maggie Shafer was smart to withdraw. The environment on the TUSD Board is toxic. The Sentinel article wasn’t a big deal, except that this was a political attack from TUSD insiders who have been attacking certain Board members.
The Sentinel hasn’t covered the big stories coming out of TUSD for the last 3 years, hasn’t gotten Sanchez’s pay right, and now they’ve “discovered” an open meetings violation by scrutinizing executive session agendas. I don’t think so!
This was an insider leak coming from someone in the executive sessions. With this breach of confidentiality,, they’ve demonstrated what their priorities are and they are not to help Maggie Shafer get TUSD on track.
