Bill would curtail superintendent’s power over ed board

An amendment to a bill that would expand the Board of Education, the proposal would strike provisions of state law specifying that the board employs staff on the recommendation of the superintendent and that the superintendent directs the work of board employees.

This office should not be elective in the first place. It should be appointive with strict professional requirements. And the Board of Ed should be bipartisan by law and elective. With 3 from a majority party and two from a minority party. It is done on local boards of ed in other states
