Freshman Analisa Gomez (University HS) finished the day 3 for 6 with an RBI, two runs scored, two walks and a double but the Aztecs softball team fell to South Mountain Community College in an ACCAC doubleheader. The Aztecs are 6-12 overall and in ACCAC conference play.

Shortly after Mike Candrea, left, announced his retirement as coach of the Arizona Wildcats in June, the school named Caitlin Lowe as its new leader of the softball program.

Saturday night, the Arizona Wildcats play the last of four matches before beginning their PAC-12 schedule. The team has piled up an impressive record, even though their choice of opponents was limited by COVID-19. Angela Monique "Mo" Montes, a RHP/Infielder from Cibola High School in Albuquerque, NM, signed to play for the Aztecs softball program. She is considered another duel threat at the plate and the mound along with fellow New Mexico natives Andrica Gomez and Lorisa Martinez.
