Former Aztecs football running back Sirgeo Hoffman signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals. He played for Pima in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Following his time at Pima, he played at Portland State University.

Former Aztecs football NJCAA All-American wide receiver Jeff Cotton (Mountain View HS) signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday. Cotton played for the Aztecs in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He caught 43 passes for 837 yards and six touchdowns in 2016.

A public memorial service for former UA football coach Dick Tomey will be held Friday, May 31, at McKale Center. Tomey, Arizona's coach from 1987-2000 and the winningest in school history, died last week at age 80. Read more»

The Pima Community College football team closed out the program with a 28-0 shutout loss to Kilgore College in the TIPS C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl. The Aztecs finished the season at 6-4 overall and 4-2 in WSFL play.

Sophomore defensive back Derik Hall (Sahuaro HS) was selected first team All-ACCAC and All-WSFL. He was also submitted for NJCAA All-American consideration. He finished the regular season with 83 tackles in nine games.

The Pima Community College football team will head to their second bowl game in program history. The Aztecs will head to the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl in Waco, TX on Dec. 1 to play Kilgore College. It will be the second time the two teams will face off in a bowl game.

Sophomore Macarius Blount (Mountain Pointe HS) had a late-game interception with 2:18 left but the Aztecs fell to Arizona Western College 24-20 in the final minute. The Aztecs close out the regular season at 6-3 overall and 4-2 in WSFL play. The Aztecs are bowl eligible and will find out their bowl fate on Wednesday.

Freshman quarterback Brooks Ringer threw two touchdown passes and had 226 yards in the air but the Aztecs football team were outmatched at Snow College 64-17. The Aztecs close out the regular season next Saturday at Arizona Western College.

Freshman Jake Smith had a game-saving blocked field goal in the final seconds as the Aztecs upset No. 9 Eastern Arizona College 28-26 in their final home game at Kino North Stadium. The Aztecs improved to 6-1 overall.

Sophomore defensive back Derik Hall was selected WSFL Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after he recorded 12 tackles (nine solo), two tackles-for-loss and one pass break-up in Pima's 21-13 win over Air Force Prep last Saturday. The Aztecs also moved up to No. 14 in the latest NJCAA national poll and will host No. 9 Eastern Arizona College in their final home game on Saturday at Kino North Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.

Freshman Moris Lugo (#17) had two fumble recoveries in the fourth quarter; one late that saved the game for the Aztecs in their 21-13 win over Air Force Prep. The Aztecs improved to 5-1 on the season and will host their final home game at Kino North Stadium next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
