Former Olympian Delaney Schnell cemented her legacy at the University of Arizona with the 2023 NCAA Championship title in platform diving.

The Aztecs softball team scored 28 runs to sweep Scottsdale Community College winning 17-3 (5 innings) and 11-1 (6 innings). Freshman Wendy Castro (Canyon del Oro HS) went 4 for 5 with seven RBIs and four runs scored, and along with freshman Alexis Tsosie-Hood, picked up the wins on the mound. The Aztecs are 20-15 overall and 17-9 in ACCAC conference play.

The No. 20 ranked Aztecs split at Scottsdale Community College on Saturday winning 2-0 and falling 3-2. Sophomore Anthony Imhoff (Queen Creek HS) threw a complete-game shutout giving up two hits with nine strikeouts and one walk in the first game win while freshman Benji Cazares drove in two runs with an RBI double but Pima's 13-game winning streak was snapped. The Aztecs are 31-9 overall and 18-6 in ACCAC conference play.

Freshman Johnathon Lane (Walden Grove HS) earned a national qualifier in the 1,500 meter race (3:59.92) while sophomores Trey Tintinger (High Jump) and Joel Gardner (1,500 meters) improved their qualifying marks at the ACCAC Conference Championships. The Aztecs took second place and had 10 events where they produced an All-ACCAC athlete.

Sophomore Maria Harrouch closed out the regular season winning her fifth straight individual title at the South Mountain CC Invitational on Thursday in Laveen Village, AZ. She posted career-bests rounds and finished with a 137 (69-68). The Aztecs claimed second place in the team standings for the first time this season.

The Aztecs softball team dropped their ACCAC doubleheader against Eastern Arizona College, falling 8-0 and 14-12. Sophomore Mia Casadei (Tanque Verde HS) was a spark for the Pima offense in the second game as she went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. The Aztecs are now 18-15 overall and 15-9 in ACCAC conference play.

Freshman closer JT Drake picked up his NJCAA leading 10th save of the season after he secured two saves on the day and sophomore Andrew Stucky (Canyon del Oro HS) finished the day 3 for 4 with an RBI, two runs and three doubles.

Sophomore outfielder and lead-off hitter Elise Munoz (Salpointe Catholic HS) was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 13-19. She went 10 for 16 (.625) with five RBIs, five runs scored, five doubles, two walks and one steal as Pima went 3-1.

The Aztecs women's basketball season come to an end on Thursday as the No. 7 seeded Aztecs fell to No. 6 Bryant & Stratton College 78-72 in the fifth place consolation bracket semifinal. The Aztecs finished with a 26-9 overall record; most wins in a single season since 2015-16.

The No. 7-seeded Aztecs women's basketball team fell in the NJCAA Division II national quarterfinals to No. 2 CCBC-Essex 89-75 on Wednesday. Sophomore Luisa Chavez (Rio Rico HS) scored a game-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists while sophomore Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS) had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pima College women’s basketball team battled with the Community College of Baltimore County on Wednesday for a chance to go to the NJCAA Division II tournament final four.
