Aztecs baseball split at Cochise College on Tuesday winning 8-0 and falling 12-11. Sophomore Bradon Zastrow threw a shutout in the first game victory giving up five hits with three strikeouts and four walks while freshman Gage Mestas finished the day 5 for 8 with three RBIs, four runs scored and five steals.

The Pima Community College baseball team (33-17, 18-14 in ACCAC) hit the road for an ACCAC Division I doubleheader at Cochise College (38-14, 24-9) on Tuesday in Douglas. Read more»

Aztecs baseball players Trent Kiraly and Darius Garcia swept the ACCAC Division I Player and Pitcher of the Week awards respectively. Kiraly batted .357 with four runs scored, four RBIs, a double and a home run while Garcia threw seven innings giving up four earned runs with seven strikeouts.

Freshman LHP Darius Garcia was named ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after he threw a no-hitter against GateWay Community College. He is now 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA with 49 strikeouts so far this season.

He picked up the win at Paradise Valley Community College after pitching 6.1 innings giving up one run (one earned) on six hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks. He is 3-2 with a 4.08 ERA in six starts this season.
