Heavy Metalachi comes to Club Congress Thursday

Metalachi, billed as "the world's first and only heavy metal mariachi band," brings their special brand of musical mayhem to the stage of Club Congress on Thursday night.

The band is a five-piece ensemble of classically trained mariachi musicians, said to have been "fused together with the power of heavy metal."

Audience members can expect a mixture of classic metal covers from artists such as Metallica, Ozzy Osborne, and Judas Priest, all played with traditional mariachi instruments, along some mariachi standards. The music is combined with a stage show inspired by the work of Kiss, Gwar, and Rob Zombie.

The doors open at 7 p.m. Advanced tickets are available at www.ticketfly.com.
